Website design, let me know what you think?

We Answered:

Indeed, it's a little plain, but it's targeted at adults.

Though, you should add more color whenever you make the side navigation bar? Whichever color you pick, it should be an existing color already on the website; I recommend blue, as it shows trustworthiness.

The top banner, I personally think, should be turned into a graphic with atleast a gradiant on it. But that's only a suggestion if you have a program like photoshop. I'm having a hard time picking out the logo on the site... Perhaps the logo should hang around with the banner?

Should you choose to keep the text box and the like, then set the size of the Zip Code box to the drop down menu above it and position it to line up. I don't know why, but it's bugging me.

Also, I suggest indenting on your paragraphs.

The ads on the bottom seem like they're in the way. You may want to treat them like you would graphics and position them better.

I hope this helped. XD;
I have to say, I'm better at working on webpages that I'm actually working on... Don't get distressed; I tend to throw out a good bit of ideas before the end of it all. I think it'll be a rather nice looking page when it's finished.

Car insurance?

We Answered:

I know you have concerns about privacy but you should know that in many states insurance companies that collect personal information from you for the purposes of giving you a quote are forbidden from using that information for marketing purposes.
And, it is very important to give that information to the company/agent because they need it in order to generate the proper underwriting to come up with a quote.
In the absense of information, they will make assumptions that may not get you the best quote.
In other words, if you want to qualify for the maximum number and amount of discounts, you should give them the information they desire.
Also, to be sure, if there is a box for other comments, you can ask to enact the "Opt Out" rights you are granted under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley (or GLB) act which then more specifically prohibits the companies from sharing your personal information with others, sometimes even within their own company.

Am i right in thinking this way about my step parent?

We Answered:

It is always a good idea to try to maintain good relationships with your step parents if they are reasonable people.
Considering that you have taken a negative stance against him, then you shouldn't ask him for anything.
Nobody is going care if you two don't exactly hit it off. At least your man enough to admit that you don't need/want him, and furthermore he probably has tried (in vein) to achieve your respect and is frustrated. Since you don't respect him, he will NEVER respect you.
I suggest you get a second job so that you can be the real man of the house and show them that you don't need them at all.

Is victimisation against the law and if so am I being having to pay for this through my insurance?

We Answered:

You are NOT being victimised.
Insurance is based on risk and obviously your area is a more risky area.

Car insurance for a 16 year old???

We Answered:

you're probably going to save money if you go on your dad's insurance--BUT it depends on who's name the vehicle is in. If it's in your name you have to get your own policy. If you keep the same company your dad has, you should get a pretty good multi-car/multi-policy discount. You should also qualify for a good student discount since your GPA is over 3.0. If you're on your own policy through the same company, they shouldn't drop your dad or raise his rates if you get into an accident. You should be surcharged on your own policy. $400 seems steep, but I work for an insurance company in OH, not MN so I don't know how the rates change. I would definitely shop around though and make sure you carry the same liability limits your father has.
