Use the Tesco Compare website, if you get a good quote you can pouch a lot of points which are very useful.
I get my insurance from Liverpool Victoria, which was cheaper for me than anything on Tesco - but as an ex-Civil Servant I got the CSMA discount, which made all the difference. If you have ever been in the civil service, you could get this too.

Apart from that, if you indeed an old geezer with a clean licence then try SAGA - they get good insurance discounts for the more mature and safe motorist.

just go here http://motorcars.ebookorama.com/ hit the Lloyds ad on the right and fill in the form for a quote, they have some kind of online discount compared to the brokers and they are the best in the UK. I a few years as you build up a bonus you'll reap the real benefits by being with them, good luck.

For certain drivers, certain cars and certain postcodes, they are - but then so are a lot of other insurance companies - there is no such thing as a cheapest insurance company.

And I would beware of Quinn - you may wish to read this if considering going with them

i recently tried confused.com and got a few cheap quotes the best being with ecar however i did look for reviews on this company and out of 31 only a few were good have you tried 4youngdrivers.co.uk they seemed reasonable EDIT: i should add i'm 29 but currently only hold a provisional liscence and ecar quoted me £220 on a vauxhall corsa that was 3rd party fire &theft though and there are no extras in with that but it may be worth a look

Most under 25s have to pay almost that as it is!
