Cheap Car Insure

Maurice Said:

whats a cheap car to insure for a 21 year old female with 2 children ?

We Answered:

Funny how our cousins from over the pond keep answering UK registration & insurance questions. Makes no difference to the insurance whether you have children or not. You being 21 is the reason your insurance premiums are high. The most popular 'family ' cars with decent room & reasonable insurance costs for your needs would be the Citroen Xsara Picasso, Renault Scenic & Vauxhall Zafira type. Plenty available & reasonably priced - if a bit 'van-like' to drive

Tom Said:

What is a cheap to insure car?

We Answered:

typically all small cars with low engine size (1 litre) will be cheap to run and relatively cheap to insure, also giving better mpg than faster, bigger engined models (scan through car mag such as 'what car' and look at insurance group column, will also tell you all stats such as insurance group and economy)
insurance will depend on age, sex, occupation and location
even the smallest, most nasty undesirable car costing £50 might attract insurance of £1500 to a 17 year old who has just passed their test
cheapest way to go is to have your name as second driver under parent(s) but then you wont get no claims bonus
*NEVER BUY NEW - UNLESS YOU GOT MONEY TO BURN* you lose over 15% of its value when you walk out of the sales room

Cheap car to insure for a 17 year old?

We Answered:

There's no such thing as a cheap car to insure for a 17 year old! You are in the highest rated insurance bracket. But the cheapest way to go is an older four door model with a 4 cyl engine. And going on your parents policy would be the cheapest way to go.

Mike Said:

Kathleen Said:

is the acura rsx a cheap car to insure for 16yr old?

We Answered:

ok i have a 2003 acura rsx, base model, silver, full coverage, its costing me close to 275 a month and im 20 with a clean record, just to give you an idea. This is not a cheap car to insure by any means. But to correct the other answer, its not considered a sports car, its considered a coupe, but because its acura and has a high theft, theyre not cheap. My full premium is costing me 3000+ a year, its actually more then my monthly car payments, if your only 16 i seriously suggest avoid buying this car, its not worth the money, not to mention your still pretty young, this is not a car you want to total or try and modify and **** up horribly since the K series motor is still fairly new and not cheap to repair or replace

also to the person who posted after me, they stopped selling the RSX because the civic was cheaper to manufacture, all that happened was the 07 civic SI took the place since the RSX was originally intended for young men aiming at performance cars, everything about the motor is designed for tuning

Lynn Said:

What would be a good starter/first car? Cheap to Run & Insure?

We Answered:

I don't know if you can get a Geo Metro where you're at, but I'd look into it if I were you. Just don't be expecting much more than good gas mileage.
