not sure about Canada, but in the United States this would fall under the personal liability portion of your homeowners policy.

most liability claims involving dogs usually occur as the result of a bite, but this basically is the same thing. your dog, which you are responsible for, caused injury to another person.

if she sues you, the insurance company is obligated to defend you and/or pay for damages up to the limit of the policy.

my best advise is to contact your insurance agent first thing tomorrow. insurance companies don't like to be blind-sided by law suits.
