Best Car Insurance Rates

Melinda Said:

Who has the best car insurance rates in NYC?

We Answered:

It varies greatly by credit score, driving history, zip code, type of car and many other factors. I would avoid the false ads from Progressive. Talk to a local agent - http://www.insuremyvehicle.com
Many times local agents network with other carriers. So if they are high, they can suggest someone else to try.

Who has the best car insurance rates?

We Answered:

No one can tell you. Rates are based on location, driving record, type of car, etc.

You will need to call agents and see who will give *you* the best rate. It's different for everybody.

Who offers the best car insurance rates?

"I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance"

Honestly I have beaten every insurance company and every insurance company has been me. Every company has their markets. The company I work with does really well with teenager auto rates and Homeowners insurance but we are horrible with Boat insurance. Just check around! www.netquote.com www.insureme.com www.quoteauction.com check these sites out.

Also keep in mind it’s not always about price make sure you know what you are getting. Don’t just go with the cheapest company go with the company that gets you decent coverage for a good price. Also look at their service that’s very important. Are you going to call and talk with the same person every time? Or are you going to be call a different person ever time? Maybe that's not that important to you. Do your research.

Who do you think has the best car insurance rates?

We Answered:

It's usually little companies you've never heard of. I had insurance with "Hawaiian Insurance and Guaranty" for a while. In California. But you can't necessarily count on them to have the resources to properly handle a claim (even if they have the financial resources to pay out on one).

Really, you should only go with a company like that if they are based in your local area, and you do not do a lot of driving away from home.

As far as quotes I've gotten when shopping with the bigger companies, the cheapest has always been Progressive. And from what I've seen with accidents my family, friends, and I have been in, Progressive is better than a damn lot of companies (especially Geico) when it comes to handling and paying claims. (Though I hear that in some regions they try to drive down the price of body work too much, to the point some body shops will not deal with them. That is not true in Alaska, however. The story about that I recall best came out of the southeast US)

edit: State Farm is the absolute champion of bullshit claim denials. For their gulf-state shenanigans alone I'd boycott them.

How do I find the best car insurance rates?

We Answered:

There are a number of different ins shopping sites, but it is better to go with a good company with reasonable rates than the very cheapest. After an accident is not agood time to find out your ins company sucks. Try USAA (if you have any military in family) Amica, or Progressive. All are excellent. Good luck.
Best way to save is to get as high a collision deductible as your savings will allow.
