you pay your deductible of 2500$ ...
then you pay your co-insurance of 80% up to 5000$ (oop max)
then insurance pays 100% of covered services for the calendar yr.

Yes you have to pay 5,200 out of pocket first, before insurance kicks in and covers all additional charges. Seems like a lot, but if you are healthy and don't need to visit the doctor often, it is a good deal. And (heaven forbid) you do get very sick or injured, your insurance will cover any additional charges over 5,200 (and such bills can easily go into the tens to hundreds of thousands.)
