Liability Insurance Companies

Kristina Said:

can anyone list insurance companies off the top of their head that would do liability ins. for school?

We Answered:

Selective, and Cincinnati, both write in Illinois specializing in schools.
I would need more info to supply a quote, how much property coverage, how much general liability, do you need commercial auto, what about work comp? Most insurance companies want the whole package and won't just write General Liability.
e-mail me with the specifics and we can probably get you a quote

Jamie Said:

Anyone know which insurance companies insure animals shows (reptile) with public liability insurance?

We Answered:

It's going to have to go out to market. Have your local, independent agent put it out to a couple of local wholesalers. I bet Scottsdale would do it.

I can't imagine it being CHEAPER than $2500. It's a specialty, but it's going to depend on exactly what type of show, and how the animals are kept seperate from the audience.

Zachary Said:

where can i find professional liability insurance companies ranking for United States?

Try Standard & Poors. They rate a lot of different things.

Jessica Said:

What companies do Bonding insurance and liability insurance for carpet cleaning & house cleaning business AND?

We Answered:

Well, you can't buy it on the internet, and you can't buy it directly from any company, either.

If you're a startup, or rather, if you have no previous insurance or bond history, you'll likely be with a nonstandard carrier.

Bonds don't cover "oops I messed up your carpet". General liability would - but it STARTS at $1500, AND, would have a property damage deductible, through an excess market carrier. The bond, will depend on the type, and how many bonds you need - they're NOT transferrable from one client to another, like insurance is.

The cost of the bond will start at $250, but depend heavily on your financial status, and the penalty amount. You'd be personally guaranteeing the bond, in any case, for a startup.

Bottom line - call a few local, independent agencies near you. They'll explain how the coverages work, and give you quotes.

Eugene Said:

What insurance companies offer Commerical General Liability Insurance?

We Answered:

ALL property casualty companies offer CGL. The question is, which types of business will they insure? What kind of information do they want? There are literally thousands of companies that do that - the job of an agent is finding the one to match up with your business.

You need to find a local, independent agent or two, who can give you multiple quotes and compare coverages.

Delores Said:

Is there an insurance company that offers ONLY liability insurance for your home?

We Answered:

Absolutely, you can buy a stand alone general liability policy for your home. But why in the world would you WANT to do that? What's the GOAL?

See, usually when people ask stuff like that, they're thinking, oh, I don't want to pay so much for house insurance. Well, stand alone GL, something like this, will run you around $1,000. You can't buy it directly, you can't buy it on the internet, you'd have to use a local agent licensed to sell insurance in your state. Most likely, it would be an "excess" or surplus lines policy, so you'd have to buy it from an INDEPENDENT agent.

The CHEAPEST way to get personal liability on the house you live in, if you don't want to insure the buliding, is to buy a tenant homeowners policy - HO4, like renters insurance. You don't actually have to be a renter - it WILL give you premises coverage, and a small amount of contents coverage, for as little as $150 a year, or maybe even less, if you're willing to take a huge contents coverage deductible.
