Wow; looks like you swallowed all the koolaid in one gulp! Yes; Primerica is definitely a scam. I am a veteran financial planner, the CEO of the nation's largest nonprofit financial advisory organization, and I'm ashamed to say, a former Primerica agent.

You said it yourself; Primerica has fine, but tremendously overpriced, term products. Unfortunately, you've bought into the lie that it is a positive thing that they only offer term life products. Term life insurance is appropriate for the lion's share of most person's life insurance needs, but there are many applications where permanent coverage is the most appropriate and/or most cost efficient option. Primerica agents aren't taught the first thing about true financial planning because their business model relies on discrediting true financial professionals.

In answer to your question, run away from Primerica as fast as you can! As soon as you learn the way life insurance really works, you'll understand that not selling cash value products is a very irresponsible thing.

Every financial expert does not agree with this; in fact, few who would truly qualify as financial experts would agree. This financial expert certainly doesn't, and I'll stack my financial expertise up against anyone in Primerica. The brother of Primerica's president is a personal friend of mine with whom I keep in very close contact. He's the only person associated with Primerica who I've ever considered to have an ounce of credibility. While he preaches the PFS sermon, he certainly realizes that the BTID mantra is a rash generalization that certainly does not apply to everyone.
