Get in touch with your Insurance Agent. Explain why you want to do it. It has bee my experience that you would have to prove that the vehicle was not on the public roadway. If you are having work done on the vehicle, get a letter from the repair shop stating when the work is to begin & when the work is expected to be finished. You may be able to put the BIPD & Cargo on hold, but don't put Comp. / Collision on hold. If you have PUC, PSC or ICC Authority, it CAN'T be done. The only alternative is to cancell your insurance policy and re write it when you want to get going again. If your Comp / Collision is with a different Insurance Company than your BIPD, leave it active. Like I said at the beginning, get in touch with your Insurance Agent.
