Unless the taxi company is willing to sell you the vehicle then you cannot insure a vehicle that you do not own. So you cannot go out and purchase insurance on a vehicle that is owned by someone else. You never said what the reason was that their insurer won't insure you. It may be dumb to you but it actually may be something quite critical and may affect your ability to be insured period or at the very least insured at something less than an astronomical rate.
