Commercial Insurance Vehicle

Mildred Said:

does anyone know of insurance company who will accept commercial vehicle ncb on a private car policy-thank you

We Answered:

You should beable to put on your personal policy - just state that it is an "artisan" vehicle - used for both business and personal. I know GMAC, and Progressive both do this - I'm sure other companies do too.

Cindy Said:

i bought an old commercial vehicle, and paid the insurance premium through cheque of my a/c.?

We Answered:

Seems fraudulent...

Let get this straight...

You buy an old vehicle.. then place theft insurance on it.. and "lo and behold you verily, verily shite unto us".. that it is in fact stolen?

Lucky I'm not on the jury on this one...

It stinks too high heavens of insurance fraud...

Does this help any?

Jose Said:

What is the maximum compensation in a commercial vehicle accident?

We Answered:

Hiya:

The maximum compensation is the COVERAGE LIMIT stipulated in the policy providing the coverage.

So, for example - if the commercial policy only has $100,000 coverage...that is the maximum you can recover under their policy.

Some commercial policies have excess coverage but excess coverage is only triggered under certain circumstances so - no sure bet there.

If you have UNDER insured motorist coverage (and your claim is worth more than the limits of the primary payer) - you can make a claim through your own coverage as well UP TO the coverage limit.

Also, something you should know - some jurisdictions LIMIT the amount you can recover if you try to take the commercial carrier to trial.

Hope that helps and hope you're better soon.

Good luck.

vehicle insurance sellers.. how do i become one?

We Answered:

There's really a lot to selling commercial vehicle insurance. If this is something that appeals to you, I'd consider applying for a job at an insurance agency that specializes in trucks & fleet risks then learn the ropes. You'll need a P&C license in the states you do business in.

After a few years, get some start up money and open your own agency. Nothing like having your own name on the door. Good luck.

Daryl Said:

Would commercial insurance be necessary for my hauling van/truck? I'll only have one vehicle in the business.

We Answered:

It depends on the DMV laws in your state. If your vehicle is over GVRW 10000 pounds, and will require a commercial licence to operate it, you will need commercial insurance, as a general rule. Probably a MCR permit too.
