Commercial Insurance Van

Ronald Said:

what is the law on driving commercial vehicles?

We Answered:

If you passed your test after 01/01/1997 you can drive any vehicle up to 3.5 tonne max weight so most car derived vans would be fine as they will be below 2 tonne (over 2 tonne has lower speed limits)
There is no age limits on car derived vans.
Car derived vans cost roughly twice as much to insure that the equivalent car.

Car Insurance Question UK?

We Answered:

Hello

Check with your Insurance Company.
I lost Full NCB when I went from Motor Cars to Motor Bikes
after 2 years?
I lost Full NCB when I changed back again
after 2 years.
Change of class will loose your NCB after 2 years and is non transferable to the new class or returning to an old one unless than the 2 year limit
They are in different Insurance Classes, this is why NCB is non transferable.

Gladys Said:

can i insure van on somebody else that doesn't work for me?

We Answered:

Yes, but it wouldn't decrease your premium much, if any, because you would still be listed on the policy, and you would only be allowed to list yourself as secondary if you truly were.

I work for a company in Indiana. Just found out this morning that I will no longer be able to drive their van?

We Answered:

nope they have a right to do this nothing in the law says they have to supply you with a van for your job good thing is if you stay at the end of the year you can claim whatever you pay out of pocket on your taxes as long as you keep records as for firing you almost 90% chance of not collecting you can't sue either they have more money than you and more than likely you would get case thrown out because of above sentence if you want to quit then find another job first and don't cause problems word always gets out and it won't look good for you

Allan Said:

In NY, am i responsble for the salvage fee of my wrecked vehicle if i don't want to keep the car?

We Answered:

If you have not already done so, contact the at fault drivers insurance company immediately. Your vehicle is incurring storage charges if it is sitting in a tow yard. They may not cover you for all of the charges. The insurance company will determine if your vehicle is a total loss. If so, they will offer you the Actual Cash Value of the vehicle, not the replacement cost. If you do not want to keep the vehicle, they will not deduct the salvage from the settlement, and they should include sales tax. If you keep the vehicle, they will deduct the salvage from the ACV.
