Commercial Insurance Rate

Tracey Said:

Does having a commercial drivers license affect my insurance rates?

We Answered:

no it doesn't. Your driving record, vehicles, age and whether or not you smoke will affect your cost- but not your type of license.
Eighteen year professional driver in all 48 and Canada and instructor in Illinois and California. My agents have never factored my license type as a factor.

Lydia Said:

I just got my ifsac firefighter 1 certication can I ask for a lower insurance rate where I live?

We Answered:

Unfortunately no. Insurance rates are based on ISO ratings of a fire department. Where ever your local fire department is located and based on response times, equipment, water supply and other things, the ISO (Insurance Services Office) gives the fire department a rating between 10, being the worst, to 1, being the best.

Since you're only one person with no fire fighting equipment, you aren't going to be able to do much by yourself in the event of an emergency. An insurance company won't even look at you even though you're certified. Sorry.

Jenny Said:

How CPI rate is calculated on leasing a place for commercial usage?

We Answered:

I have no way of telling you if this is a good deal as I have no idea what the competition is offering. This has to be warehouse space if it is only $2.50/sf. The CPI is published by the government and is too complicated to explain here. I have provided a link if you really want to know. If the CPI does not come into effect until it is time to renegotiate the lease after the initial 5 year term, it is not the biggest issue, but you should be aware that between 2004 and 2009 the CPI increased over 15%. Generally speaking this is a great deal, but every market is different and every lease is different.
