Commercial Insurance Comparison

Jackie Said:

DUI & DWT(Driving while texting) gender awareness comparison?

We Answered:

Actually I read an article on that the other day, insurance rates are going up for Young female drivers as the accident rates have been increasing...directly b/c of talking on cell phones and texting.

Not sure a DWI really is comparable to "DWT" cause really if traffic starts to get bad you cant set a drunk mind down.

As to the Q....here in CA talking and holding(can use blue tooth) a cell phone has recently become illegal...and yes the advertisements had plenty of women in them.

Where is the change Obama promised and why is the left oblivious to his campaign that got him elected?

We Answered:

I swear to you these nuts do not care. I promise you if you told them and showed them the failure that is happening they just would not care. They believe what was said and they do not care if it is or is not actually happening. They made history and that is all they trully cared about. It does not matter if its going to be great for America. They just wanted the history.

Oh good lord Michael I would love to hear what you think the left is.

Cost of plane rental vs flying commercial?

We Answered:

You actually alluded to the answer a bit in your question. How far you travel decides the price differential. In addition where you travel matters most.

Like what most others have said... commercial travel is the cheapest option for almost all travel greater than 300 miles. But somewhere between 50 and 300 miles, there is a very small sweet spot where private single-engine plane travel is cheaper than commercial flights when it comes to per-seat-mile.

For instance, if I have to fly between San Francisco International, and Sacramento, CA the cheapest flight I found was with JetBlue for 241$ in a flight that flies me down south to Long Beach and then back to Sacramento, taking me 7 hours with connections.

I can do this trip for much cheaper if I rent a Cessna for 120$ per hour and fly round-trip in a comfortable 3 hours (will actually be much less time than that), costing a total of 360$ but when I share with the 2 friends I flew with, my cost is only 120$ :) a savings of little more than 50% (or 121$) than flying commercial.

In summary, there are city-pairs out there where private single-engine travel with 2 or 3 people is still cheaper than flying commercial.

Discuss It!
