Commercial Condo Insurance

Anita Said:

Should condominium master policy include Sponsor's corporation on it?

We Answered:

Yes, it's legal.

I have no idea what you mean by "sponsor's corporation". Condo associations typically don't have "sponsors".

It's pretty common, though, to list the building management company on there.

Discrimination & Condo Board Assoc.?

We Answered:

I am not sure what you are seeing as discrimination. You are too young to qualify for age discrimination coverage.....and even if you were not I do not think your age is relevent.

The HOA has the right to disallow business, especially if the business uses any of the communal areas and therefore falls under their insurance coverage. This would include the parking lot. It really does not matter what your grandfather did. If the rules state that there will be no business, or no business that involves the communal areas, you need to either stop doing business or do your business elsewhere.
