You are not alone my friend. I hate commercials so much that I find it hard to sit down and watch TV these days. They're such an intrusion on our psychie. The worst ones I think are the ones like the one for 'cillit bang' with 'barry scott' And other similar distastefully bright and loud commercials that Force a product brand into your brain without your consent.

But you see they work. As I've just proved by naming the product and even the **** who advertises it. I think that it is a violation of our civil rights to have these images hammered into our brains. The regularity with wich commercials appear on our televisions seems to be increasing too.

I guess you are from England because you mentioned the ridiculous elephant costume commercial for insurance. I lived in the U.S for some time, and it's even worse there. For instance, during a half hour programme you will be subjected to at least 15 minutes of commercials, i.e. 5 mins before the programme, 5 minutes during the programme, and 5 minutes after the programme.

The only answer is to not watch TV any more I'm afraid. My sympathy to you my friend but be comforted in the knowledge that there are others like myself who understand and share your pending insanity and hatred.

Great story. And I agree if you can't find a job after 2 years of unemployment you can't be trying very hard. Granted if may not be your first choice of jobs but at least it pays the bills until something better comes along.

The phone service and internet - go with a company that offers packages. You will get ulimited nationwide calling, caller id, call waiting etc., and high speed internet for a combined price that will be cheaper than separating the two. Especially if you could get it through your cable company, combining the three will save you a bundle. Net Zero is dial-up, yes it's cheap but the service is not great. As far as car insurance, it really depends on your driving record, the type of vehicle you will be insuring, and your deductibles and such... but I would try progressive.com, they can give you quotes and let you choose which sounds best for you. My quotes from Geico have always been too high, but that's just me. Good luck!
