Business Owner Insurance

April Said:

What is the best low cost health insurance for a small business owner with no employees?

We Answered:

I've been doing research on this since I will be start a new business in a few months and want to be covered with health insurance. I was able to compare a lot of plans and see different prices using http://healthquoteneeded.excellentabc.co… . I'm still deciding on which plan to go with but this should help you a bit.

Good luck

Edna Said:

does business owners insurance cover damage caused by a renter?

We Answered:

Policies are written to cover SPECIFIC damage. Wear and tear is NOT covered. Vandalism IS covered.

Did you file police charges against them for vandalism? Are you prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law? If not, then you do NOT have a vandalism claim.

Something else to keep in mind - if your "business owners" policy is really a "dwelling fire" policy, then any claims you put against it, will count against YOU, and against the house you live in. Two or more claims inside of three years, and it will pretty much be impossible for you to buy any new insurance for at least five years. Think long and hard, about putting in claims for damages under $5,000 or so.

Robert Said:

Any business insurance data vendor that tracks accidents reported by a business owner?

We Answered:

Likely, you're not going to be able to do that.

The data collector is called, Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange, but the information sharing is limited to participating insurance companies (but virtually all insurance companies participate).

So yes, someone collects this data - but it's still private information, and you won't be able to buy it.

Tiffany Said:

Does a small business owner have to provide health insurance to his employees?

We Answered:

I'm not sure of the health insurance stipulations in Georgia. However, in Virginia it is fine to get health insurance through the company for just the owner and family and not include the employees.
