Business Car Insurance

Pearl Said:

do i need business car insurance???????

We Answered:

You need to check the wording on your policy. Insurance for the normal family car is Social, Domestic and Pleasure. Technically if you are using the vehicle to commute then you should inform the insurance company - although most people fail to do so. If you have business cover on your policy it only applies to your own business. If you use it for driving your employers clients around or any other business use for an employer then your own policy does not cover you.
Companies that require employees to use their own vehicles in furtherance of the companies business should list your vehicle on their own company policy for that purpose. If they do not have a company policy then they should pay the difference between private and business use. Quite a normal practice.

Just remember it is your responsibility to ensure you are covered and your licence at risk - plus in the case of a claim the insurer will not pay out.

How has Amica been in the car insurance business for over 100 years?

We Answered:

They were founded in 1907, so they have been a business for over 100 years, but they don't claim to be insuring cars for 100 years.

Company History
In 1907, a Rhode Island businessman named A.T. Vigneron anticipated that horseless carriages were going to revolutionize American society. He founded a small auto insurance company in Providence with two founding principles: The firm would seek out responsible policyholders, and it would treat them with respect by providing the best customer service possible. With that, the Automobile Mutual Insurance Company of America – or Amica – was born

What's the cheapest business car insurance company?

We Answered:

I dunno about best, and I dunno what you mean by "business". However, my buses are insured through Lincoln General and/or Lancer. Lancer is one of the best in commercial insurance, and they go after nuisance claims with a hammer (which is good, as it keeps your costs down.) and they also have various safety materials you can "borrow" for a safety seminar you can hold at your place. Lincoln General is not quite as proactive, but they do send an auditor / evaluator to check up on your risk-abatement which also helps to keep your costs down.

If you want some more information, I would check out...
